Ronald C. Naso, Ph.D., ABPP
What is ABPP?

A Diplomate is a professional designation and diploma of advanced competence that far exceeds the minimum requirements for state licensure. Diplomate status is awarded by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), the oldest and most respected governing specialty board granting certification in North America. Since 1947 the ABPP has awarded Diplomate status to practitioners to designate to the public that they possess advanced competency in their areas of specialization. The credentialing process is rigorous and involves having a practitioner's work directly examined by a committee of specialists; the examination includes an oral defense of his or her work and clinical judgment. At the time of this writing, only one other psychologist has been awarded Diplomate status in Psychoanalysis in the state of Connecticut.
